Aya Healthcare’s Education Services Division has an immediate school-based opening for the following position: Speech-Language Pathologist in Oakland, CA .
-Provide direct, individual or small group instruction to identified pupils on a regularly scheduled basis as required in the IEP.
-Collaborate with other personnel working with Special Education students.-Participate in developing and implementing Individual Educational Plans for students who qualify for Designated Instructional Services (DIS).
-Implement and monitor IEP of students who qualify for Designated Instructional Services (DIS).
-Screen, assess, and provide specialized speech and language services to students who qualify for services as established by State standards.
-Consult with school and home office staff.-Develop instructional materials and strategies for Special Education students in the mainstream classroom.
-Demonstrate knowledge of, and support, the schools organization mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior.
-Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

In this role, you will be responsible for:
• Designing the exceptional student education program so that it is consistent with the total educational philosophy of the district.
• Preparing educational plans annually for each student based on individually assessed needs in accordance with district procedures.
• Participating in the in-school staffing and screening processes as appropriate.
• Participating on evaluation teams for speech, language, and hearing impaired students as appropriate.
• Conferring with the classroom teacher as requested concerning any educational needs of the student.
• Ensuring that each student in the program has necessary evaluation records in his/her permanent folder.
• Referring those students who require further evaluation or follow-up services to the appropriate school personnel or community agencies.
• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
• Current State license
